Corbin Bosch Handed One-Year PSL Ban After 2025 Season Withdrawal
South African allrounder Corbin Bosch has been banned from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year after pulling out of the 2025 season despite being picked by Peshawar Zalmi as a diamond player. His withdrawal came after he was later signed as an injury replacement by the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL, which clashed with the PSL schedule.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a legal notice, citing breach of contract, and announced that Bosch will miss the 2026 edition of the league as part of his penalty. The 29-year-old expressed regret over his decision, apologizing to the people of Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi fans.
“I take full responsibility and accept the fine and ban. It’s been a tough lesson, and I hope to return with renewed focus and trust,” Bosch said in a statement shared by the PCB.
The PCB emphasized that the action sets a precedent to prevent players from backing out of PSL commitments in favor of other leagues, especially with the IPL and PSL windows now overlapping. The 2025 PSL draft was held after the IPL auction to avoid such conflicts, attracting big names like David Warner and Kane Williamson, who went unsold in the IPL.
